Benefits of BPC-157

TB 500 Vs. BPC 157

Both TB 500 and BPC 157 have powerful healing effects, promoting enhanced recuperation from injuries to joints, bones, muscle, and connective tissue. They each provide a protective effect against injury as well, promoting stronger musculoskeletal tissue with greater joint, tendon, and ligament flexibility. Their differences lie in their respective origins and structures, along with slight variations in which types of body tissue they most greatly affect. While TB 500 is synthetically produced Thymosin Beta 4, a protein made by the thymus gland, BPC 157 is a synthetically made peptide similar to “Body Protection Compound,” a natural peptide found in the gastrointestinal tract that facilitates digestion and the healing of ulcers. Though based on the natural Body Protecting Compound, BPC 157 is a truly synthetic peptide in that its sequence does not occur in nature. This is in contrast to TB 500, which mirrors the structure of natural Thymosin.

Anecdotally, many trainers have observed TB 500 to have a superior effect on animal muscle tissue growth than BPC 157. Many reports appear to indicate that both peptides have similarly powerful healing and protective effects on animal joint, bone, and connective tissue. As a result, TB 500 is often sought out as an ancillary strength and growth promoting aid over BPC 157 when the goal is solely muscular development in the animal subject. Why the difference? Without a proper study performed in a clinical setting, it is hard to say for sure. However, we can speculate that much of the difference may likely be a natural variation in individual animal response (i.e., certain things work better for some animals than others).

Side Effects

BPC-157 has not been shown to cause side effects in any study conducted at this time. Further, long term veterinary use for racing animals such as horses and greyhounds has also revealed no negative side effects as reported by trainers and veterinarians around the world.

Additionally, it is important to note that it does not have any effect or impact on the animal’s natural production of sex hormones (i.e. testosterone or estrogen) or growth factors such as growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1. Critically, Body Protecting Compound exerts its effects through entirely different mechanisms of action and has not been observed to interfere in any way with the animal’s natural physical equilibrium.

Dosage Information

Generally, BPC-157 dosages range from 200-500mcg (0.2 – 0.5mg) administered 1-2 times daily. For intensive injury recovery, dosages up to 500mcg administered twice daily will provide rapid support for immediate healing. On the other hand, veterinary use for injury prevention, recovery from training stress, and/or steady performance enhancement often consists of 200-350mcg administered once daily.

Regardless, the dosage should always be monitored and adjusted if necessary based on the results seen in the particular animal(s). As always, in practical application, a “one-size-fits-all” approach is seldom optimal other than as a general guideline.

User Guidelines

BPC-157 is administered by injection. It is effective whether injected subcutaneously (under the skin) or intramuscularly (into the muscle), although subcutaneous administration is most common. As a general guideline, injection volumes under 1mL can be administered subcutaneously. Volumes greater than 1mL will be better tolerated when injected intramuscularly. For example, if mixing 5mg of BPC-157 with 2mL of bacteriostatic water, doses under 2.5mg should be injected under the skin.

For subcutaneous injections, 29-gauge insulin syringes are commonly used. 0.5 inch tips with 0.5 to 1cc capacity syringe will work, depending on injection volume. For larger volume intramuscular injection, 3cc syringe, 23 gauge, 1 to 1.5 inch tips are suitable.

There are several schools of thought about where to inject BPC-157 and whether it needs to be administered near the site of injury. Ideally, it should be administered as close to the injury as is convenient. Of course, care should always be taken to ensure that the site chosen for administration is safely away from nerves or major blood vessels.

Reconstitution (mixing)

BPC-157 is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze dried) powder to ensure maximum potency.

Prior to administration, BPC-157 (5mg) must first be mixed with Bacteriostatic Water or Bacteriostatic Sodium Chloride to create a solution. It is recommended to use 2mL of Bacteriostatic Water to reconstitute one vial of BPC-157.

Storage Guidelines

Once mixed with solution (reconstituted), BPC-157 should be used as soon as possible. Any unused reconstituted portion should be refrigerated (NOT frozen), where it will remain stable for 1-2 weeks.

In lyophilized powder form, BPC-157 can retain its potency for many months if stored properly. At room temperature, it will remain perfectly stable for 60 days. Upon receiving your order, it is recommended to store it in the freezer until ready to use. For storage of up to several months, a freezer temperature of -4 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees Celsius) is adequate.

Important: avoid repeatedly thawing and refreezing lyophilized peptides. This can cause a loss of stability and potency.
